Portage is served by a volunteer fire station, and they are always looking for more volunteers. Training fees will be reimbursed by the fire department once the course has been passed. If interested, you can contact Chief Nic Tree for more information.

Burn Permit
Information regarding burn permits can be found here.
Please remember that you must get a permit to burn Monday through Friday and there is no burning on Sundays. Burn barrels for the disposal of trash are not allowed anytime.
